Our reason to exist…

At Feelbright Kids, we believe every child deserves to grow up healthy, confident and resilient. Today, many parents are watching childhood chronic conditions, anxiety, and behavioral struggles rise in alarming rates. They want to teach their children about health and self-care early, yet often feel stuck trying to explain these big ideas in ways their kids will actually care and enjoy.

Children deserve a better start in their health journey

40% of school aged children live with a chronic health condition (asthma, obesity, diabetes, learning difficulties)

Anxiety is twice as common in children with chronic conditions compared to their peers, making routines and home treatments harder to follow and understand

“Why did you start FeelBright Kids?”

Because this mission is deeply personal. As a mom, I watched my son struggle with allergies and asthma from infancy. Treatments at home felt scary to him, bedtime was hard because of his discomfort when he was not feeling well. Trying to reason with a 3 year old doesn’t work, His frustration often turned into fear and behavioral challenges that affected his ability to learn and play. I wanted him to live peacefully with a condition that could last years not in fear, so I used play, connection and tried my best to make recovery and treatments as seamless as possible. Reasoning and explaining doesn’t work, play, creative thinking and connection do.

    “Have you experienced this yourself?”

Yes. At 14, I was diagnosed with prediabetes and high cholesterol. I didn’t understand how my food and lifestyle choices affected my health, and making lifestyle changes as a teen felt overwhelming. I remember thinking, If only someone had taught me about self care and how my health choices mattered, I’d have had a better start with my health.

“What do you hope FeelBright Kids will do for families?”

I created FeelBright Kids to help parents create a strong health foundation for their kids. I believe we as parents need all the help we can get. My goal is to give parents peace of mind and help kids feel empowered, not afraid specially when they’re most vulnerable.

    “What’s your bigger vision?”

To improve the quality of life of children living with a chronic condition, to nurture a generation of mindful, confident kids who understand their bodies, outgrow chronic conditions, and take care of themselves with joy.

What brought you into this mission?”

Alba approached me with the idea of creating something meaningful for kids and families and after months of dreaming together, FeelBright Kids was born. The mission connects deeply to my own story.

“How has your health journey shaped you?”

I was born with congenital heart disease and had surgery at three months old. I grew up with a long scar up my back and a constant reminder to “slow down.” But I never let it stop me, I danced, sailed, even rowed. Still, I always felt a bit different and needed time to understand how to take care of myself and embrace what made me unique.

At 21, I faced another heart surgery, this time leaving a scar down my chest. Recovering while preparing to study abroad was tough, but it also taught me resilience, courage, and a sense of humor about my “matching zipper marks.”

“What do you hope kids take away from FeelBright Kids?”

That being different is actually a strength. That slowing down when they need to and taking a breath is powerful. That they deserve characters and stories that reflect their own journeys, scars and all. And that caring for their health can feel playful, not heavy.

    “Why does this matter now?”

As a mom of two, navigating my own newly diagnosed health conditions while working full time, I want my kids (and every child) to feel confident, capable, and proud of who they are. FeelBright Kids is my way of helping families feel seen, supported, and empowered.
